"Il mare nascosto" (“The Hidden Sea”) blends cinema, theater, and documentary. Loosely inspired by Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, the film follows the journey of a young immigrant through the faces and wounds of Southern Italy. It is an attempt to reclaim his own story and perhaps his future. But he is not alone on this journey. The narrator’s words intertwine with those of the many characters he encounters, and above all, with the voices of the places he passes through. The Hidden Sea is a meditation on the redemptive power of art.
